Training: Learning to use 123library


Overview

Welcome to 123Library's training guide. Please use the links on the left of the screen to navigate through the guide. You may read each chapter in turn or click on a link to jump straight to your chapter of interest.

The 123Library website contains thousands of leading medical eBooks together with medical eVideos and eJournals. Our aim is to help you find the medical resources you need as easily and quickly as possible. We will guide you through each section of the website, demonstrating how best to access and manage the wealth of information available.

Before we do this lets get better acquainted with the 123Library website interface.

123Library website interface

1. Log in - Click this link to be directed to the 123Library login box below. When logged in to the website the link will change to read 'Log out'. Please use this link when wishing to log out of the website.
2. Athens login - Individual users of the 123Library website can ignore this link as you will not have an Athens username and password. This is for use by institutions, such as libraries. (If you are a librarian, please see our training guide for librarians.)
3. Username and password - You will have been sent a login username and password by 123Library. Please enter them here.
4. Sign in - Click this button after entering your login username and password in order to access the 123Library website.
5. Quick search - Quick search appears at the top of every page of the website. Select the products you would like to search for in the dropdown menu, enter keywords for your search, select whether to search within the full 123Library catalogue or just your 'My library' subscriptions, then click 'Go'.
6. Full catalogue or 'My library' - Here you have the option to search within the full 123Library catalogue containing thousands of product titles, or just within the 123Library product titles you have already purchased. All purchased products are housed in the 'My library' section of the website.
7. Advanced search - Click this link to be taken to our Advanced search. Here you are able to enter additional search criteria including publisher, IBSN and date range of publication.
8. eBooks - Click this link to be taken to the eBook medical catalogue. Here you will be able to browse through collections and subjects to find the exact eBooks you require.
9. eVideos - Click this link to be taken to the eVideo medical catalogue. Here you will be able to browse through collections to find the exact eVideos you require.
10. Journals - Click this link to be taken to the eJournal issue catalogue. The Foundation Years Journal is a monthly peer-reviewed publication and here you will be able to search and browse all issue topics.
